The Oldham Quiet Ones is a laryngectomy support group for North Manchester, Tameside, Oldham, Rochdale and Bury. We were formed over 20 years ago by our speech therapist from North Manchester General Hospital Janice Lang.
We are a registered charity (number 273635) Associated to NALC. The National Association of Laryngectomee Clubs. Supporting laryngectomy patients and their companions. The group provides mutual understanding and reassurance, in an atmosphere that is welcoming and comfortable. Always supported by Janice and her team who are still heavily involved in the continued success of the group and attend every group meeting offering help and advice.
Despite being called “The Oldham Quiet Ones”, membership has no geographical boundaries and members are laryngectomees who have suffered throat cancer and who share their own experience to help each other to cope
